Orlando Vacation Home Tips

After selecting the right Orlando Vacation Rental most guests are confused about what is actually provided in a vacation home in Europe Vacation Homes are known as self-catering properties which translated means bring the things you will need or cater to yourself as confusing as that sounds here are a few tips on items you should pack or pick-up during your stay.
  1. If you are just going to buy toiletries once you get here, bring your coupons! Normally Walmart is a short drive away from almost any location ask your vacation specialists about local shopping (Not tourist shops, but where the locals go) There is a considerable price difference between the two things like soap, shampoo, conditioner, sun screen, extra toilet paper are not provided in vacation home rentals.
  2. You will get a fully equipped kitchen not a "college or hotel" refrigerator for those of you travelling with your family eating out 3 times as day will stretch you vacation dollars. The best tip is to buy your favorite breakfast foods, snacks, a case of water, a few dinner items some homes have bar-b-q's or bar-b-q areas you can plan a theme cook-out which is great fun!
  3. Purchase tickets before you go to any attraction, or you will be waiting in two separate lines, the line to purchase tickets and the line to get into the attraction the for discount tickets you can contact KGS Tickets, they will mail tickets to your home or deliver the tickets once you arrive this is a GREAT savings and no timeshare visit required.
  4. Be prepared to do a few loads of laundry including towels the pools are very popular and you don't have to drag home dirty laundry.
  5. Pack a small travel cooler for the parks with water bottles, juice boxes for the kids and lite snacks. They normally fit in a backpack or behind your stroller the cost of bottle water can cost up to $4.00 or more can you image paying what a gallon of gas cost for a 16oz bottle water?

Extra Tip: Fast passes are always a good idea during busy seasons (Summer and Holidays) most people think that being in the first in the parks is a great idea, but my suggestion is have breakfast and lunch at the vacation home (that way you only have to buy dinner in the park), head over to the parks in the afternoon into evening hours after enjoy the Fireworks!

BIG Wheel Coming To Orlando!

I guess the news is out Orlando is getting a BIG Wheel to add to its downtown attractions. What is a BIG wheel you ask? For those of us who grew up in small towns we know them as Ferris Wheels that came with traveling carnivals. The Great Wheel Corporation which has Big Wheels in Beijing, Berlin & Singapore in setting up in Downtown Orlando.

The Great Orlando Wheel will sit on 20 acres next to the Orlando Orange County Convention Center. Located at 6503 Westwood Boulevard, the giant wheel will be less than five minutes from Interstate 4 and SR 528. The location is convenient to the Orlando International Airport, downtown Orlando, and the area’s world-premier theme parks, hotels and attractions.

Orlando Vacation Homes Vs. Hotels

Did you know the fastest growing trend in Orlando is families and groups of friends renting a private VACATION HOME? Vacation Home Rentals have their own screened swimming pool, up to 7 or 8 bedrooms, a minimum of 2 bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, laundry and loads of living space! If you are looking for the best value for your money Vacation Homes undoubtedly offer the BEST PRICES available. I have been reading tons of articles and websites and here are my top ten reasons to stay in a Vacation Home:
  1. You don't have to book multiple adjoining rooms.
  2. More than one bathroom which is AWESOME!
  3. Private Pools / Spa you can swim or soak anytime you want.
  4. Usually costs less per person than a hotel.
  5. Full Kitchens you don’t have to eat out every night and you can store as much food as you like!
  6. You don’t have to drag home dirty laundry and are no extra laundry fees.
  7. You normally have your own garage or parking space no more driving around parking lots looking for a space and no extra cost to park your car with the valet.
  8. Space for everyone to enjoy.
  9. FREE Internet Access, most vacation homes or business centers located in the community offer use of free Internet access or use of a computer.
  10. Peace and Quiet how many times when staying at a hotel you hear your neighbors comings and goings either in hallways or right above your head.
With that said this may be the first time you are considering a vacation home rental or you are a return vacation home guest here are a few questions you should ask the owner or property manager:
  1. Property Location? Property location is normally given once payment is made in full or if you using a check-in center the property address is given on the day of arrival.
  2. Where and how do I get the keys? The keys to the property are normally located in a lock box at the property or you can collect the keys from the property manager's check-in center.
  3. Where and who is the Property Management Company? If you booked directly with an owner you should have the phone number and address of the local property management company or agent in case of emergency.
  4. How close are the attractions? Times to attractions can vary, be sure to ask driving distance to the parks and other attractions.
  5. What is a Rental Policy? Make sure you ask for terms and conditions or the rental policy this information includes what deposits should be made and when funds are due along with any other information regarding your stay.
If you are ready to reserve your Orlando Vacation Home Rental or just have questions about visiting Orlando visit Imagination Vacation Homes we can answer all your questions and give you the insider's view of Orlando Florida.
